Tasks

As Business Development Engineer at Istec, you are responsible for driving sales growth in Germany by acquiring new customers expanding existing relationships and positioning Istec as the preferred partner for monitoring and protection solutions for rotating equipment. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Maximising Istec's commercial activities in Germany, with a strong focus on Western Germany
  • Developing and expanding strategic relationships with OEM's, system integrators and key end users.
  • Identifying new project opportunities as well as upgrades in the installed base.
  • Executing a German-focused market plan targeting priority industries and applications
  • Leading commmercial negotiations and closing deals under compliant and favourable conditions Collaborating closely with internal teams and marketing to translate customer insights into effective campaigns Representing Istec at trade shows, industry events and key customer meetings.

You spend a significant part of your time engaging with customers on site and building long-term relationships.

Profile

You are a commercially driven professional located in Western Germany, ideally near the Dutch border who feels comfortable in an industrial, technical environment and enjoys building relationships at multiple levels.

You bring:

  • A strong sales mindset with proven ability to generate and close opportunities
  • Experience in account management and long-term customer development
  • Confidence in negotiating commerical terms, scope and pricing
  • Solid understanding of industrial markets and rotating equipment applications
  • Experience with condition monitoring, predictive maintenance or reliability solutions, as well as vibration analysis, speed measurement or related instrumentation, is strongly preferred.
  • The ability to communicate technical and commercial value clearly
  • a proactive, hands-on attitude with strong ownership for results
  • Fluent German and good English communication skills

Candidates without affinity or experience in rotating equipment and machine protection systems are less likely to be a fit for this role.

The role

Istec is lookig for a Business Development Engineer located in West Germany to drive commercial growth in Germany. In this role, you are responsible for acquiring new customers, expanding relationships with OEM's, system integrators and end users, specifically within the field of rotating equipment such as turbines, compressors and pumps and positioning Istec as a preferred supplier of vibration and speed monitoring solutions for critical machinery. Native German and professional English language proficiency, a valid driving licence and willingless to travel frequently to customer and partner sites are required for this role.
