CRA Consulting is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly regarded claimant law firm to recruit a Military Claims Legal Executive / Litigation Executive for its expanding Castleford office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation professional to join a specialist department acting on behalf of current and former Armed Forces personnel pursuing complex personal injury and industrial disease claims. You'll manage your own caseload, work alongside experienced colleagues and play a key role in delivering exceptional outcomes for clients who have served their country.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of military injury and industrial disease claims, progressing matters from initial instruction through to settlement, with support from senior colleagues where required. The caseload includes claims relating to: Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL)Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)Non-Freezing Cold Injury (NFCI)Asbestos-related illnessesOther service-related personal injury and industrial disease claims

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing your own caseload of pre-litigated and litigated military claims.
  • Reviewing liability, causation and quantum to develop effective case strategies.
  • Drafting legal correspondence, witness statements, schedules of loss and court documentation.
  • Obtaining, reviewing and analysing medical records, service records and expert evidence.
  • Liaising with clients, medical experts, barristers, the Ministry of Defence and other third parties.Negotiating settlements and progressing claims efficiently through the litigation process.Ensuring files are managed in accordance with regulatory and internal compliance requirements.Providing an excellent standard of client care throughout each stage of the claim.Keeping up to date with developments in military claims litigation, the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) and relevant case law and legislation.

About You

Applications are welcomed from experienced Legal Executives, Litigation Executives, Paralegals, Fee Earners or Claims Handlers with claimant litigation experience.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience managing your own caseload of claimant personal injury, industrial disease or military claims.
  • A sound understanding of the litigation process.
  • Excellent organisational and file management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A client-focused approach with the ability to manage sensitive matters professionally and empathetically.The confidence to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team.

Previous experience handling military claims would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided for candidates looking to specialise in this niche area.

  • Competitive salary of £30,000 - £55,000, depending on experience.
