Praedoc (Diss) (f/m/x) in the Few & Many-Body Quantum Theory Group
The Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information Innsbruck (IQOQI-IBK) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria`s leading non-university research and science institution, dedicates its work to theoretical and experimental basic research in the areas of quantum science. IQOQI is pleased to invite applications for two positions as Praedoc (Diss) (f/m/x) in the IQOQI junior research group “Few & Many-Body Quantum Theory” led by Dr. Arthur Christianen.
Your Tasks
- Work on the theoretical description of few- and many-body phenomena in quantum matter, in platforms such as ultracold gases and two-dimensional semiconductors.
- Contribute to writing scientific publications
- Tutoring bachelor and master students
- Attendance of conferences and workshops
- Supporting the group in administrative tasks
Your Profile
- M.Sc. in physics or related fields
- Strong background in quantum mechanics, quantum optics, quantum chemistry, atomic and molecular physics, condensed-matter physics, and/or many-body analytical and numerical techniques
- Ability to think, plan, and conduct research independently, as well as to work and cooperate with other group members and external collaborators
- Proficiency in English (both spoken and written)
- Strong social skills

The minimum annual gross salary for this position is EUR 53.140,92 (full-time based), in accordance with the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW). For part-time employment, the salary will be adjusted on a pro rata basis in line with the agreed working hours.
