Senior Autonomy and Navigation Engineer (m/f/d)

• Design, implement, and field-validate robust state estimation for UxS platforms.
• Architect the onboard autonomy stack, including localization, degraded-mode behaviors, and failsafes
• Lead sensor fusion across IMU, vision, LiDAR/radar, barometric, and opportunistic sources.
• Take prototypes from simulation through HIL to flight test and act as technical lead in test campaigns.
• Support with mentoring less experienced team members and review theses and code in the navigation area.
• Serve as a steady, reliable technical anchor for the team — someone others can count on to help navigate ambiguous or difficult technical challenges to a solid resolution

• Masters degree in robotics or aerospace software
• Minimum of 5 years experience in robotics, aerospace software; field-deployed navigation experience;
• Deep state-estimation expertise including EKF/UKF, factor graphs, VIO/SLAM;
• Advanced proficiency in Python, C++ are a must, experience with Rust is highly appreciated
• Hands on experience with ROS 2 and internals of PX4 or ArduPilot
• Real hardware and flight-test experience.
• You are strong team player
• You have first experience in technical leadership
• You are used to work in high pace project mode
• Excellent communication skills in English; German language skills are a plus.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with GNSS spoofing/jamming detection, alternative PNT, terrain- or vision-based georeferencing,
• Experience in defense or safety-critical domain
• Eligibility for security vetting
