You will work with the existing utilities product portfolio with focus on market communication in the (intelligent) metering area. The product needs to be enhanced continuously along with legal changes that are defined by the German Federal Network Agency. You will work independently on designing these legal requirements in the existing solution and lead the development of the same in the development team. Analysing complex customer issues and guiding and implementing the corresponding solutions to guarantee a smooth operation of the solution is part of the job. Also, you'll independently design and architect scalable, AI-native application systems and fcomponents, including advanced RAG pipelines and multi-agent Evaluation and benchmarking frameworks to measure AI system quality, reliability, and performance are things you'll build and own. You'll optimize latency, throughput, and cost efficiency across systems. You'll partner with platform, data, and AI teams to design robust, production-ready solutions and improve system integration. System scalability, resilience, and maintainability are areas you'll continuously work to strengthen.
What you'll bring
You have experience in distributed systems and scalable application design, with hands-on skills in LLMs, advanced RAG patterns, and agentic workflows, performance optimization, cost management, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in system design for scale, resiliency, and fault tolerance is required. Applying agentic engineering patterns is critical. Technical leadership and mentoring ability are also part of what you'll bring. You have rich experience in ABAP development including ABAP objects and preferably in RAP and BOPF. UI5 Fiori know-how and SAP Web Services are beneficial. Preferably you have industry experience in utilities and knowledge of metering processes ,device management or energy data management(EDM)are a plus. German language proficiency at C1 level (minimum) is required, as the role includes regular interaction with local customers and German regulatory stakeholders. Skills used in this role: ABAP development, AI adoption capability, AI output quality assurance, AI-assisted engineering, context engineering, agentic orchestration, agentic engineering, application security, cloud architecture, observability, semantic retrieval, high availability engineering, troubleshooting, evaluations and benchmarking engineering, CI/CD.
