The job of the Senior Portfolio Owner Quality is to provide end-to-end ownership of all quality product-related activities, ensuring a strong product strategy that supports compliance, product availability, and patient safety throughout the entire product lifecycle, while enabling transparent and proactive risk management. The role moves beyond reactive issue detection and focuses on preventing defects through robust quality design and continuous improvement. The role acts as the central point of accountability and escalation while coordinating operations and providing disciplinary and functional leadership to the product team. By organizing and prioritizing work, fostering cross-functional alignment, and involving relevant experts when needed, the role ensures effective collaboration and high-quality outcomes across departments.

Strategic Product & Quality Leadership

Accountable for all product-related activities, including product strategy, quality measures, compliance, operational efficiency, and the oversight of external partners’ contribution to business objectives, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals.

Team Leadership & Operational Management

Responsible for the organization and allocation of operational tasks within the product team, including disciplinary and functional leadership, strategic guidance, and final decision-making authority.

Cross-Functional Alignment & Stakeholder Management

Ensure strong alignment across internal departments and stakeholders, particularly SCM, Therapeutic Area Leads, and IMO, while acting as the central escalation point (SPOC) for all relevant product-related topics.

Budget & Capability Development

Responsible for Science budget planning and performance achievement within the assigned portfolio, as well as the onboarding, training, and continuous development of team members.

External Partner & Outsourcing Oversight

Lead and manage outsourcing activities and external partnerships, ensuring effective collaboration, performance management, and contribution to business objectives.

Academic Qualification & Industry Expertise

Master’s degree in a relevant scientific or pharmaceutical discipline combined with more than 10 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance within the pharmaceutical industry.

Leadership & Organizational Management

More than 8 Years of proven leadership experience managing large, cross-functional Quality Assurance organizations at senior management level, including extensive experience leading global and international teams.

Conflict Resolution & Stakeholder Management

Strong ability to manage and resolve conflicts at high organizational and political levels while maintaining effective collaboration across complex stakeholder environments.

Communication & Influencing Skills

Excellent indirect leadership, communication, and influencing skills across multiple hierarchical levels and in interactions with external stakeholders and regulatory partners.
