Region NCE and Global Offshore > Global Offshore > Sales UK Sales Offshore UK is responsible for all sales-related activities – from early customer outreach, bid phases and contract negotiations, to handover to the Construction department after the contract has been signed. The extended team consists of a diverse group of motivated employees covering the global offshore sales regions, as well as a team that provides global bid management and sales support.

Responsibilities

  • Acting together with customers together with the Senior Sales Package Manager throughout the sales process. This includes strategically building relationships with customers and internal and external stakeholders
  • Leading contract negotiations, including all commercial aspects, supported by relevant subject matter experts
  • Management of the commercial parts as well as overall responsibility for the offer and contract strategy to ensure an attractive but risk-balanced offer
  • Mentoring for younger team members in sales (also cross-country) as well as responsibility for the onboarding of new sales managers
  • Responsibility for customer dialogue throughout the sales process as well as joint management of important accounts with other stakeholders at Vestas
  • Function as a role model both internally and externally
  • Deep understanding of the Vestas sales process as well as the relevant sales tools and methods; this includes the role of owner/project manager of strategic initiatives

Qualifications

  • Experience on the commercial side in negotiating large, complex projects, with the ability to clearly present commercial and contractual implications
  • Strong understanding of commercial aspects of complex products and the ability to translate this knowledge into a contractual context
  • Experience with long-term sales processes and the ability to deliver results in a matrix organization with large-scale projects
  • Bachelor's degree combined with extensive professional and project management experience in wind energy, power plant construction, infrastructure or construction industry; a master's degree is an advantage

Competencies

  • Proven ability to effectively deliver results even under complex and variable conditions, including the ability to manage uncertainty in highly critical projects
  • Excellent communication skills and an analytical, questioning mindset, able to lead central discussions with Global Offshore Management
  • Ability to convince internal stakeholders and work effectively in a matrix organization
  • Advanced financial understanding and analytical skills, including value engineering
  • Ability to work in time-critical environments and willingness to go the extra mile - Deep understanding of the value chain and proven ability to make decisions in the best interest of Vestas - Confident appearance in conversations with C-level contacts of the largest customers
