Software Engineer (m/f/d) - Trading Systems Energy

RABOT Energy DE GmbH vor 3 Tagen
Befristet
StandortBerlin, Berlin

The energy market is experiencing the biggest upheaval in 50 years. We no longer manage electricity, we make it intelligent. RABOT is growing at triple digits, and our team is growing with the growth. Now is the perfect time to get involved: You don't learn in a finished company, but where processes are currently being created. Here you can move more and learn more than in any textbook.

Your mission

Every kilowatt hour we supply to our customers is procured on the energy markets. Behind this is a trading infrastructure that runs around the clock, is mission-critical and must scale with our growth. You are part of the team that operates and develops this infrastructure. Your focus will be on the reliability and scalability of our trading services: You will take over maintenance, monitoring, further development and testing together as a team. You will work closely with our portfolio management team and contribute to the development of intraday trading algorithms. Code reviews are part of your everyday life – in both directions.

Your results

  • After 6 weeks (onboarding)
  • You have familiarized yourself deeply with the existing code base and our deployment processes.
  • You understand the data flows and the connection to our trading partners.
  • You know where you can dock – professionally as well as in the team.
  • Month 3 (Ramp-up)
  • You will independently take on initial maintenance and configuration tasks.
  • The first monitoring modules have been set up.
  • Test cases have been expanded.
  • You have fully understood the content of architecture, data flows and dependencies on external trading partners.
  • Month 6 (Performance)
  • Full monitoring dashboards for all business-critical trading processes are up and running (status, process progress, KPIs).
  • Code reviews run in both directions – professional exchange within the team is established.
  • Comprehensive automated test structure with high code coverage was established.
  • Month 12 (Scale)
  • The first independent development work on existing services is in production.
  • You will develop and test intraday trading algorithms together with portfolio management.
  • You will expand interfaces to internal systems and external trading partners.
  • You are an equal sparring partner in the team. Development work is delegated to you, critical reviews run across your desk.

This role is not for someone who likes to experiment in the productive system. Trading infrastructure does not forgive spontaneous experiments. We are looking for someone who plans changes in a disciplined manner, rolls out cleanly and, when in doubt, prefers to look twice.

Technical requirements (must-haves)

This reel has clear technical requirements. Without these skills, you won't be able to dock in the first few weeks – we ask you to honestly check against the list before applying.

  • Very goodC#/. NET knowledgefrom productive development – not from tutorials or hobby projects
  • Experience withrelational databases
  • Windows Server Administrationin a Production Context
  • CI/CD and deployment experience in cloud environments– you know the path from commit to live system
  • Genuine interest inenergy or financial markets. You don't have to be a trader, but you do need to want to understand what the code is running for

Nice to have

  • Experience in energy trading (EPEX, EEX, Intraday) or with exchange and trading systems
  • Experience in the design and implementation of monitoring and observability
  • Experience hosting and operating cloud-based applications
  • Experience with database migrations can be omitted
  • Experience with trading algorithms Python for data analysis or algo-prototyping Experience in database administration and optimization for PostgreSQL or MS SQL Server

Who we are looking for

  • You take responsibility without staging it.If something hangs, you don't wait for it to escalate. You go in, look, fix it – and document it.
  • Discipline before speed. You plan changes cleanly, test, roll in a controlled manner. Spontaneous hotfixes on production are the last option for you, not the first.
  • You like to work in close exchange.Code reviews are not a format for you, but a tool. You accept feedback, give it back, and learn from the exchange within the team.
  • You explain what you do.You can also document and communicate complex technical decisions in such a way that they become comprehensible to others – today and in two years.
  • You want to understand energy.Trading systems are not an end in themselves – they provide the electricity for our customers. You want to understand what the algorithms are doing, not just that they are running.
