Tech Installer (m/f/d)
Autonomo is building checkout-free retail technology for supermarkets, convenience stores, petrol stations, bakeries, workplaces, and grab & go locations. Role We are now looking for a hands-on Technology Installer to help us deploy new autonomous stores across Germany. This is a role for someone who enjoys practical technical work, problem-solving onsite, working with customers, and taking ownership of installations from preparation to final handover. You will be responsible for the technical deployment of Autonomo’s store technology in new and existing retail locations. Your work will include:
- Preparing technical installations together with our internal team, construction partners, and suppliers
- Installing and configuring hardware such as cameras, PoE switches, networking equipment, servers, and related cabling
- Supporting the integration of hardware with our proprietary software platform
- Testing installed systems and making sure everything works reliably before customer handover
- Troubleshooting technical issues onsite and remotely
- Documenting installations, hardware configurations, issues, and resolutions
- Working closely with customers, store fit-out teams, suppliers, and installation partners
- Helping us improve our deployment processes as we scale across Germany
You will become a technical expert in how autonomous stores are deployed, tested, and operated in real retail environments. We are looking for someone with strong practical technical skills and a structured, reliable way of working. You should bring:
- Previous experience in IT installation, field service, technical support, hardware installation, electronics, networking, or similar
- Hands-on confidence with hardware, tools, cabling, cameras, switches, servers, and basic network setups
- Good understanding of basic networking concepts
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve technical problems independently
- A structured approach to documentation, testing, and handover
- Comfort working with customers, suppliers, and external partners
- Willingness to travel regularly across Germany
- Fluent German and good English skills A valid driving licence
A university degree is not required. Practical experience, reliability, and technical ownership matter more to us. Experience with software teams, server hardware, GPUs, retail technology, construction projects, or installation partner management is a plus.
You will work directly on the rollout of new autonomous retail locations and see the result of your work in real stores. You will have the opportunity to:
