This role would suit a proactive and organised individual who is keen to develop their career within commercial property law. Working closely with experienced lawyers, you will gain exposure to a broad range of commercial property transactions while playing a key role in supporting the team and ensuring matters progress efficiently.You will be involved in all stages of commercial property transactions, assisting with file management, client communication and transactional support. The role offers excellent hands-on experience and significant client contact.
Responsibilities will include:
- Opening new files and carrying out AML and compliance procedures
- Obtaining documents from HM Land Registry and Companies House
- Ordering and reviewing searches
- Liaising with clients, agents, lenders and solicitors
- Preparing completion statements and financial schedulesAssisting with transaction documentation and engrossmentsHandling post-exchange and post-completion formalitiesPreparing and submitting SDLT returnsManaging Land Registry and Companies House applicationsAssisting with billing and file closure proceduresSupporting the department with general administrative and case management tasks
The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and a professional approach to client service. Experience within a commercial property or property law environment would be advantageous, although candidates with transferable legal experience and a genuine interest in commercial property will also be considered.You should be confident using Microsoft Office, possess excellent communication skills and be able to manage competing priorities within a busy team environment. A positive attitude, willingness to learn and proactive approach are essential.
