Senior Packaging Specialist, R&D (m/f/d)

Engage with cross-functional teams to develop new packaging solutions

• Develop innovative packaging solutions to support business growth and to enhance West’s position as an industry leader in containment and delivery
• Responsible for creation and maintenance of packaging elements for design history file (DHF) for all assigned projects including design inputs, risk analysis (FMEAs), test protocols, and design verification
• Support customers and suppliers as required for the development of new packaging solutions
• Coordinate packaging testing activities for engineering studies and protocols through internal and contract packaging laboratories
• Deliver technical reports, executive summariesand presentations to communicate activities and timelines to management and core team members
• Identify and drive continuous improvement efforts within the packaging group

• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in packaging, mechanical, chemical engineering or related engineering or scientific discipline
• Desirable: Master’s degree or other advanced graduate-level degree in a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience and a proven track record of projects led within international, cross-functional teams
• Proven understanding of fundamental engineering principles with a passion for technical / scientific writing and documentationand working with new materials, manufacturing processesand test methodologies
• Ideallyprevious knowledge or experience with aseptic pharmaceutical processing
• Technical project leadership experience
• Excellentknowledge of English, written and spoken (knowledge of German is advantageous)
• Strong written/ verbal communication skills for effective work in cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams
• Effective problem-solving abilities and strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong technical writing abilities
• Travel requirements: 10 % – up to 26 business days per year
